Instant ramen/noodles Anonymous 01/21/2020 (Tue) 08:10:24 No. 553
hey /late/, let's chat about instant ramen/noodles.

Like what's your go to brands or flavor, how do you prepare/cook them.. etc

so for me, it will be the usual chicken soup or chicken curry, or sesame oil one from Demae Itcho if i'm feeling a bit fancy.

for cooking i would usually heat the water to boiling, add the soup base first then the noodles.

weird habit of mine is i don transfer the cooked noodles to bowl, but rather eat them straight out of the pot.
I haven't had it in a while, but it's more expensive than Maruchan. I'll either put chicken or shrimp in it, then bell peppers and onions.

Then sriracha.
I usually get Nissin, either the top ramen or the cup noodles, but Maruchan is fine too. I've preferred Nissin to Maruchan, but I don't think I would be able to tell the difference in a blind taste test.
I like to crack an egg and softboil it in with the ramen, and garnish with cilantro or green onion and some chili paste. I'll also add mushrooms if I have any, like shiitake or enoki. I might add some extra protein like pork, chicken, or tofu, but I don't always have those around. Any extra vegetables might go in as well, like carrots or cabbage. It mostly depends on what's in the fridge at the time.
I cook em by just dumping em in a bowl of water covered with a paper towel and microwaving it, stopping half way to stir it. Then I just go sit outside to chill and eat em

I'm a spicy ramen lover. Pic most def related. What's even better is that it's the perfect time of year for real hot and spicy soups.

Sometimes I'll grill up some chicken and throw it in, but usually I just eat it as-is, in front a fire or electric heater.
Ahh, that's my fav!
"Nissin Roah"
yes I love it spicy. If the noodles aren't spicy enough for me I like to add some tabasco sauce. I also throw and egg or two in there for that extra protein, and to even it all out i have some regular old lettuce on the side. One of my favorite late night meals.
I don't like ramen or noodles because the things that tastes them is just a sauce.

curry noodles r top-tier

agreed. classic flavor if you want some spiciness
Not really a fan of Ramen anymore.
But when I did make it, I made budget "neopolition" out of it with Sirachi ketchup and hot dogs.
I bassically just boiled the ramen with cut up hotdogs added half way through, strained that bitch out and coated it in siracha ketchup. Some people fry it and it adds a different taste. But fuck that, bam ghetto spaghetto.
I ate this to many times to feel good about myself.
As for normal undesecrated Ramen?
Samyang 2x Spicy Ramen or "Fire Noodles" as Koreaboos call it is good. It's kindve expensive but worth it as you don't have to spend the extra money flavouring it yourself. It's good on it's own, or with an egg. Not many Ramen brands can boast that.
Haven't had ramen in a while! Years ago I used to get a lot of different ones when my mom when to a Chinese store. They had a lot of variety but most of them were Nissin. I liked the 'meaty' ones (chicken, pork and beef).
For the past 3 years or so I've been getting into spicy food and when I hang out with a friend at his place we both get spicy ones. Can't remember which brand is it.
Having some curry ramen with beef chunks right now while sitting in my yard. Its gotten comfortably warm out and watching the stars feels good.
Maruchan stopped exporting to brazil a few months ago
Im pissed.
They were 4x as pricey, but Maruchan noddles are the best and i havent had it in so long
Oh well. At least theres some new wacky flavours on the market. Fuckin grilled cheese noodles, man, wtf
I like having noodles with a cup of tea. Warm liquids hydrate you better, so even here in the tropics its good
Rice noodles are very tasty too, good with fish
Instant noodles are okay. I'd much rather eat ravioli as a lady food. Or canned chilli. I get the vibe, though, if it's late at night and there's nothing else, noodles are okay.
What's the point of getting fit when you have a small dick
You know what I love? Those Nongshim instant Udon bowls those are amazing.
You guys must live in a quite big of a metropolitan city to have all these kinds of ramen.
Where I live there are only ones with stale image on their packing and one pack contains enough for 5 ramen dishes.
buy some good ones the next time you're in the urbs/city. instant ramen's/noodles' shelf life are pretty long.

Sapporo Ichiban is my favorite. I got hooked on it while actually living in Sapporo too. I like too add a softboiled egg, some wilted spinach, some roasted pork, and a little drizzle of sesame oil.

>>2227 yeah this shit is easily the best ramen brand also recc the soft boiled egg, you can just boil it with the noodles so it doesn't really take any extra prep aside from peeling it afterwards spring onion also goes pretty well

What about Indomie?
>>2312 it's not ramen but it's great, spesh with a fried egg on top
>>2307 oh my God, are you a Sapporo salesman? you're good.
I had some chicken yakisoba earlier, stuff's good.
I want to find some good vegetable noodle broths and dishes without soy sauce (allergic to it). Good noodles seem like a good dieting dish and I want to get healthier this year. Does any one know of any good cooking channels for those sort of dishes? I'm looking for instant ramen style dishes but without the huge calories ramen has in it.
